Carrières des Lumières

The vast underground quarries of Les Baux-de-Provence, made famous by the filming of Testament of Orpheus by Jean Cocteau, were transformed in 1978 into a spectacular space dedicated to sound and light.

Projections of artistic masterpieces are displayed on the monumental walls, pillars and floor of the quarry. Carried along by the music, visitors are plunged into an abundance of visual worlds. Nearly a hundred video projectors animate more than 7,000 m² of surface area, offering a unique immersive experience.
